The purpose of the project description is that it allows the student to define the task, and to outline the strategy to achieve it, there-by providing the tutor with an overview of the process.

The project description should include the following sections;

• A A brief description of the organisation, its business, the management and staff, and a site layout;

•       An outline description of the workplace study to be undertaken;

•       The aims and objectives, and don’t forget S.M.A.R.T;

•       A realistic overview timetable for completing the project;

•       Any foreseeable barriers, and the planned strategies for dealing with them;

•       An explanation as to how the study will meet the 4 specific leaning outcomes.

Having a word count of 750 the document can contribute 20% toward the overall module mark, and due to the reflective nature of the module the normal rules for academic writing do not apply. The narrative therefore may be “First Person”
