For the Final Project, you will
select a public organization (federal, state, or local) with which you are
familiar. This could be an organization for which you currently work, have
worked, know about from others, or have learned about through academic resources
and/or the media. With this organization in mind, you will explore the various
topics of the course. As you progress through the readings and assignments in
the course, think about how these topics relate to finance and budgeting within
the organization you selected. The Learning Resources, the Discussions, and the
Application Assignments all will assist you in completing each section of the
Final Project.
Your Final Project will examine
the various course themes’ financial and budgetary implications for the
organization. The Final Project should contain the following sections (the
sections can be reordered for appropriate flow):

Your Final Project must
demonstrate both breadth and depth of knowledge and critical thinking appropriate
to graduate-level scholarship. It must follow APA Publication Manual guidelines and be free of typographical, spelling, and grammatical
errors. The project should be 8-9 pages in length (double-spaced), not
including the title page, the abstract, and references.
