PART B: Psychological Science Please find attached PART A of the assignment attached and the feedback I got off my Tutor for this part. Please amend ALL feedback to Part B of the assignment. Please note the research question will need to change and the designs will definitely have to change. An example of this could be: “where do our violent tenancies originate from? They are VERY hard markers in this assignment and it requires you to think outside the box and use your own brain (no referencing or referring to other material) for the assignment. A background of research/science/psychology would be a huge asset to complete this assignment of high standard. These are the notes my lecturer wrote for the assignment the other day: Please make sure when completing PART B that you take into consideration all of his words of advice. Please also find attached a worked example he has completed too, so you know how to structure this assignment and what is expected. There are three inter-related questions you need to answer for Part B – 1. What’s so great about your #1 design? You need to convince us that you placed this design at #1 for good reason. 2. What are some disadvantages with your #1 design? You need to convince us that you are aware of the potential problems with this design. 3. What about other design options? You need to demonstrate that you engaged in a meaningful, intelligent, and fairly comprehensive evaluation of the designs available to you. OK, so what are the things we want you to consider in your answers to these three questions? Mainly, internal validity (does the design do an OK job of answering your question?), conceptual validity (is the design sufficiently relevant to your question?), external validity (will the results apply to actual people in the real situations described in the original research issue?), feasibility (is the study worth doing in the manner you propose?), and, at a common-sense level at least, ethics (are the risks of participating in the study minimized and warranted given the potential outcomes?).
