Research indicates that the child obesity has increased over the 60years. Then a question is what might be the cause of the increased cases of child obesity over the entire globe. From the research done from across the world, child obesity has been linked to the school lunches that kids take in school. According to the evidence released by the CDC, the number of obese children is increasing in some given schools whose primary diet is some sugary chocolate bars. The chocolate according to research has a lot of sugar when analyzed from the amount nutrient perspective, they have no other nutrition content other than sugar which when broken provide simple carbohydrates which when it accumulates in the body may result in overweight and obesity epidemic. From the above evident, one can argue that school lunches need to be changed.

According to the food science, many sugary foods issued in schools for lunch have high calories and decreased nutrition. Most schools prefer the first food to ensure that time is saved during lunch breaks. But most the schools haven’t taken into consideration the impacts that food causes to the involved student. Because of the increased irresponsibility of the healthy departments in schools, the cases of poor nutrition have become one of the most common issues found in schools. The nutrition department is seen relaxed, and the food the student are given are under standard a fact that awakens the cases of obesity increase in schools over years.

Research also has pointers out some other cause of childhood obesity. The lunch the students take in school. Many school lunches do not take into consideration of the standard nutrition guidelines. Due to the above aspect, the number of the childhood is recorded in the children who have gone to school. The facts that makes the schools not to consider the effect the food they issue to the students during lunch break is that most schools tend to prefer time-saving foods that are easy to get and will facilitate the children energy. Yes, the food gives the kids energy in abundance, but the one should consider the long term implication of taking such food. According to a survey of between 1973 to 1974, the cases of child obesity was very low which can give a percentage of 4% of the total population. The percent was small since the food the kids used to take standardized, and all nutrients need for healthy living. The later research that was carried out in between 2003 and 2004 revealed that the number had increased to 18.8%. The number has grown drastically over year to the growing number substandard food issued in schools.

Some factors have been linked to the childhood obesity evident in most schools going children. But the most common course of infant food is the continuous aspects that state that most schools lunches are energy oriented and thus in the process of ensuring that the children get energy food, they end up giving the children that are unworthy. And this causes the children gain weight and eventually become obese

The kind of food given to students or learners of every category is not of a proper diet. Due to many reasons, poor diets offered in schools do not promote learning in institutions. Hence, that is the primary factor that leads to the recording of minimum results amongst many schools across the globe (Robinson, 1564). For a reason, school lunches must be changed if at all better results are required to be recorded.

The government has full authority and power to institute and implement rules and regulations that deal with school lunches. It should be the main concern by the state if it needs good citizens who are mental, physically, socially and psychologically sober to help boost the economy of our country ahead. Productive and vibrant citizens can form a productive state thus raising the gross domestic product of our nation. Therefore, the mandate designed by the government should aim at making sure that healthy lunches are available in school. In reality, in the present school situation, what ends up on the plate of the learner is not always nutritious. Eating a junk meal or two cannot have a permanent impact on the student (Jeffery, Robert , and Simone, 378). On the other hand, eating unhealthy lunches for long can possess a harmful adverse effect on both physical and mental health.

Research has shown that in the year 2012, the United States of America updated the National School Lunch and the School Breakfast Programs. The paradigm shift by the U.S government dishing fruits, and vegetables to the learners. The above supplements the diet since they were counted as separate meal groups. They also made half of grain choices whole grains, giving different levels of student’s different sizes distinctively and reducing sodium and fat in the meals. Despite the fact that the above rules and regulations have been executed in the United States of America, not all the institutions that have adhered to the National School Lunch Program. Again not all the learners that eat the healthier choices that the school provides.

Therefore, from the above illustration, it can be seen that other states have given the priority the option to provide better meals to the learners. So as to elevate the standards of education in their states, such countries are found in the U.S. This is a big stride that they have made towards the development of the country at large. Education plays a key role in fostering economic development of a country. Hence, well-balanced diet given to students can improve the education levels of the country thus the general growth of our economy. Other countries should also borrow the same culture from the U.S to foster our education standards.

Obesity and other weight issues are one of the common risks of unhealthy school lunches amongst the students. Poor unbalanced diet in schools makes the students prone to such an implication. According to research carried by the Weight Control Information Network, at least a quarter of the total population of adolescents found in school is overweight or obese. The above results in the present day government in the U.S because although the state has done its part in regulating the amount of calories consumed by the students in the school lunches, many schools allow students to go and buy cheap foods full of calories and have high sodium, sugar or stuff that contain the three.

The harmful effects of poor nutrition from school lunches are not only obesity and overweight. The effects go beyond the above. A student who takes too much of fats, sodium, sugar and processed foods but less of vitamins and minerals, he or she is likely to develop higher risks over time for several chronic health problems and complications. Such complications include; kidney stones, bone loss, cancer diabetes and even heart diseases. Too much of fats, calories, make a student feel weak, fatigued, and nauseous during work or exercise.

For students, proper diet is tied to better academic performance. Therefore, those students who eat unhealthy lunches are prone to score poorly and decimally in the tests and have a strenuous and hard time with school work. Learners who take poor diet have the low absorption rate of issues dealing with academia, low concentration in class and they lack the motivation to carry out academic matters.

Contrary to the above, students who take proper diet are sharp in class, they have a high concentration in class, they are highly motivated intrinsically to carry out academic issues, and they are fast to learn and cope up with different situations depending on the kind of issue at hand. They can also manipulate resources to cope up with the trends and changes in the economy.

There was an article that was written in the year 2012 that was addressing effects of not getting enough nutrients at meals. The report laid information across stating that poor diet lowers the child’s IQ scores, memory capacities, fine motor skills, social skills and language skills into adulthood and even into old age (Ebbeling, Dorota Pawlak, and David, 478). The effects of poor dietary have far more reaching negative impacts than what one can imagine.

The central part that is affected in the body of the kid is the cognitive and the academic abilities. The reasoning capability of the student is drastically changed, and the student thus cannot make it in class. Those children with micronutrient deficiency always may exhibit more aggressiveness, less mental endurance, and low intelligence test scores.

Therefore, school lunches should be changed for the betterment of our education levels to avoid having an incompetent workforce. Better eating makes learning enjoyable, and the learner can conceptualize many ideas that are presented to him. The classroom becomes manageable and easy to command when the core needs of the child have been catered. Without taking keen consideration on the wellbeing of the kid, then learning will not take place.

However, the government also should design and enforce the rules regarding the education system in our country. For instance, laws pertaining change in diet for the students should be enacted. It is high time that we need to revise and revive our education system for the best of our future generation. Let the kind of food taken by students while in schools be of high quality so that we can foster the growth of our kids wholesomely without having any joy of an adverse effect on our students.

How to Ensure that the Children Take Health Lunch

The best approach to minimize the cases of children obesity is by making sure that following the government provided food nutrition guidelines for the school going children. Another important one should consider when issues food to the student is giving the children a balanced diet. Parents should take time and ensure that they encourage the kids health food. Some of the guidelines to health food include:

· Brown Bag Solution. Make healthy lunches at home and pack them for the children. It may sound Obvious, but effective. If you have children, who are selective on what to eat, have them help. Plan out meals to be prepared together, do the shopping together and make the lunches together. The above fact will make one get to purchase a balanced diet. Food bought in small bits leads to being imbalanced.

· Feed them a healthy breakfast. Breakfast can help in controlling obesity levels since they will get them full at school and thus won’t go for the unhealthy food issued in schools.

· Try to write and educate the local schools and try to suggest the most useful food that should will be published to the children while in school. After the writing make a follow up to ensure that the school implements the technique, and the children are give the right type of food.

Impact of Obesity on the Global Economy

The phenomenon of Obesity has posed a substantial negative impact on the world economy and economic development. The ever increasing cases of childhood obesity have called for the world organization on the human health such as the world health organizations to spend huge deals of money in research to determine the cure for the condition (Dietz, William and Steven Gortmaker, 374). Resources that otherwise would have been used to ensure that the world economy is growing are now being diverted in trying to regulate the cases of obesity. Most of the resources are used in research, and some are now used for making the community informed on the possible causes of this disease.

Differences between the Old School Lunches and the New School Lunches

The two lunches have significant distinguishing factors as far as nutrition is a concern. The old school lunches were considerate on the diet balance. The food was healthy as opposite to the meals that the children are given to day. The food was prepared using well-established standards that ensure that the amount of food taken was at the appropriate level regarding nutrition level, and the health of such food was among the important aspects that were considered before giving them to the children. Contrary to the old school lunches, the new school lunches does not consider quality or and nutrition level. The lunches are only concern on energy giving to the children thus making the school managers to go for energy giving fast food that does not have any nutrition but having extraordinarily high calories. Once the kids take this food, the excess calories are retained in the body and thus making them obese.

Effects obesity on the Child’s Physical and Mental Health

Obesity has a diverse effect on the child’s physical health. The disease causes the involved kid strain to accomplish simple things that otherwise to could help them establish. The disease causes the children get fatigued easily even when carrying out some basic tasks. On the mental impact, the involved kid gets it’s difficult to cope with he/she collogues. Facts that make them feel isolated from the rest of the group with simple reason that the child cannot fully participate the day to day routines which other children do (Story, 264). The kid away feel discriminated since carrying out the necessary activities that other children do is a challenge to them.

For the control of the obesity cases, Millennial should take part in the inspection process. It must join in the review process since if it can set guideline strictly, the cases of obesity will come to a complete end that should govern the nutrition in school and instill the direction the problem. The Millennial should take relevant measures to ensure that the problem is ultimately brought to an end.

In the other hand, the control of obesity should be the parents, responsibility. If effective parenting is done, the cases of obesity would be a rumor. Nobody would have ever heard about it. The parents should take time and educated the children on the type of the food to make. Under normal circumstances, the parents do control the eating habits of a kid and that can impact the child’s health. No blame should be laid on the millennial about the cases of obesity in the children.

Schools lunches have been tied to the causes of obesity. The blame should not only lie on the schools’ shoulders but also all other parties that influence the children eating habits. If each parties of the child rising are involved in promoting the health of the child, the issue of obesity could have been eliminated. When a party of all is blamed the others are not, the problem may be solved from one side and the other side proceeds with facilitating it. For the above obese condition in children, all involved parties should take part in the control process.
